CHILDHOOD is part of our life that creates beautiful memories cause being a child means full of fun, no stress and you only think what makes you happy. One thing that being part of your childhood memories is playing outdoor games. Their is many outdoor games we used to play when we are younger. So her I am wanted to show you some memorable games that I know you can relate and make you remember how to being a child again.

What are games that you used to play when you are young?

Tumbang preso (also known tumba patis)

Tumbang preso is one of the traditional Pinoy game that I used to play most of the time on the streets or in the wide area of our place. This game is simple you only need to have empty small can and slippers. It can play 3 or more children cause it only need one player to guard the can and other players are the attacker to knock down the can.

PIKO

Piko is a game that make you as an artist sometime cause players draw a big image on the floor filled mostly of box-like shapes, which they will hop on and around using only a single foot. And you must have a batano/ pamato (usually a flat piece of stone) that is placed on one of the boxes and the owner cannot step on the box where his or her pamato is placed. When finished hopping around, he or she moves the pamato on the next box until it reaches the topmost box. The first to finish wins the game.

10-20

For me this game is the easiest and it usually played by girls. You only need pieces of rubber band joined together to form a single string is used. The name of the game came from the chant done while playing you must count 10-20-30-40 up to 100. It can be played by 3 person, two player hold the rubber band string on two ends and one player will do the moves at the middle. At every round the height of the string will getting higher.

LANGIT LUPA (heaven and earth)

For me this game is the hardest and it need to have many person to play with you to make the game enjoyable. In this game you need to have a player (the taya) that have a mission to chase others to replace her place. Players are allowed to run on the ground (lupa) and climb on objects (langit). The it can only tag players who are on the ground and not those who are on higher objects. To start the game and decide who the it is, a chant is sang and it goes like this. Langit, lupa impyerno, im – im – impyerno Sak-sak puso tulo ang dugo Patay, buhay, Umalis ka sa pwestuhan mo. The player left and never gets pointed to get out. Do you still remember this chant??

TAGUAN

This game is the most enjoyable for me cause you need to make extra effort to hide at short period of time and to have a better eyesight to find other player. Taguan is the Pinoy version of the game hide and seek. What makes it unique is that taguan is usually played at sunset or at night to make it more challenging for the it to find the other players. Before starting the game, the other players hide while the it chants: Tagu-taguan, maliwanag ang buwan Masarap maglaro sa dilim-diliman Pag kabilang kong sampu Nakatago na kayo Isa, dalawa, … sampu!

This is the 5 games that make my childhood days become memorable and unforgettable. You.. what unforgettable Games do you have??
